This calculation automatically computes the Total Cost for each Contract by summing its Licensing Cost, Maintenance Cost, and Support Cost. The result is written directly to the Total Cost field, keeping your contract financial data up-to-date with less manual effort.

Understanding the total cost of contracts helps organizations manage vendor spend, identify consolidation opportunities, and make informed decisions during renewal negotiations. By aggregating licensing, maintenance, and support costs per contract, this calculation gives architects and procurement stakeholders a clear financial picture of each vendor relationship.
The calculation runs automatically whenever Licensing Cost, Maintenance Cost, or Support Cost changes on a Contract fact sheet. No manual trigger is needed.
The output field is updated with the sum of the three cost components. If any component is unset it is treated as 0.
The required fields are provided by the Contract extension. Specifically, the following fields must be present on the Contract fact sheet:
- Total Cost (lxContractTotalCost)
- Licensing Cost (lxContractLicensingCost)
- Maintenance Cost (lxContractMaintenanceCost)
- Support Cost (lxContractSupportCost)
